My internetting is now via ADSL. This is a new glittering world after plain old modem connection (remembering that my first modem was a 300 baud one!). All those pages you just couldn't be bothered to wait for, or links you couldn't be bothered to follow, because you knew they'd take an age, are there - almost immediately. The DIY wires-only' service does involve learning a new language, though - see here for my experiences and some useful ADSL links.

After nearly eighteen months, I can report that there have been really no significant problems. Not my experience with the BT broadband offering I look after for a local charity, where there have been outages and failures which involve changing router configurations to log on to a test connection and then resetting evrything. Maybe we've been unlucky, but ...

	An unusual clock. (You'll need Macromedia Flash enabled.)Just wait until 23:59:59 on 31/12/2999 for some real activity!
Need a logo?
	Who knows when you'll need a logo from one of the thousands available here? Your imagination is the only limit to the possibilities.
Weird 'toons
	Animations for the Web and TV at EGGTOONS. Another one for which you'll need Flash. Mostly not in front of the kids, though.

80 years on

My Grandfather, Charles Rooke, kept a diary while he was serving during the First World War in France Belgium and Germany. I have transcribed this as well as I can. He titles his diary: A few of my Experiences whilst on Active Service.

Web sites I maintain

	Leander Sea Scouts Web Site has just got its own domain name, but could do with a bit of smartening up. At the moment, you can find basic information, a brief history of the Group, and read the online Water Rat (newsletter).
	I've now moved the Kingston Parish Church site to its own domain name and given it a swanky new look. You can see, amongst other things:: Music lists Choir page concerts etc.
